Re: best first trips

Give Harry Homer or Frank Udavich a call at Kawishiwi Lodge and Outfitters. They'll help you plan an exciting first time adventure with alot of different options in an area that is mostly unspoiled from last years storm. I visited a few spots this year that the storm of 99 abused some what and I was disapointed in the fact that my old favorite camp spots were no longer so cool. First time around I think Lake Three would be a good choice, or if you have the time, and an experienced guide, Lake Insula. I've been lost in Insula more then once.

Give Harry or Frank a call at 218-365-5487

I've been planning our adventures with them for the last four years and we are well satisfied. They'll make you feel at home in the North Woods.

Have Fun and good luck.

P.S. Beware the wind.

P.S.S Don't forget your compass, or your bug dope or your leaches.

P.S.S.S Fish'n Good In the narrows between and close to the area between lake Three and Four, Check out the channel in lake three close to Horse Shoe Lake. We usualy get one the or just a bit closer to lake Four. We don't fish Lake 4 much, but have caught 'em there too.

P.S.S.S.S. There's a cool hiking trail just off the portage between Lake Three and Horse Shoe Lake as well.
Gives you a chance to mix things up a bit and see the woods from the woods. Well worth it.

P.S.S.S.S.S. Leave early. I mean early. No sleep'n in.
Get up, get go'n, first come first serve, beat the wind. This is important. Get up, get go'n, leave early.
