I've used duluth packs on all of my trips and one thing that i find extreamly helpfull is to line the pack with a plastic liner like a garbage bag or something even more heavy. this really helps with waterproofing. Also if you are using a duluth pack as a food pack it helps to put a cardboard box about the size of the pack inside the liner to give it some shape.
