Portage Anyone?

On a solo trip in spring a group paddled up to my campsite and started to unload their canoes. With all the politeness I could muster I asked them just what they thought they were doing. Turns out they thought it was the portage. Being very relieved I was happy to tell them exactly where it really was and where the resident grouse sits and drums. Yes, maps are sometimes wrong. Then a month ago, Paul sent the Yum Yum portage story and I started thinking of a wonderful thing - A portage database. It was easier to set up than describe, so try it out. If anyone has any questions or great ideas, speak up. I think it would be a great resource IF EVERYONE participates. It's entirely up to all of you.

On a somewhat related note, if you feel like you've been waiting forever for the QuietJourney virtual trip to become a reality, here is something that might help you pass the time. Virtual Reality Panoramas are like standing at one spot and taking a 360 degree look around. I'm sure you'll enjoy these and future panoramas.
