We tend to camp on islands. But have seen bears on islands in the past. I saw two on an island in the north end of Louisa Lake in 1994. I also had one come into camp on a mainland camp on Knife Lake a couple of years ago. We had just finished eat dinner and it walk in. So I think that you have to be careful at all times. They (bears) are very good at swimming.
