After all the responses I have decided to go with the 14 inch Bean boots from LLBean...Roger at Seagull Outfitters loves them and have had a few locals recommend them as well.
I need the ankle support and they look like they could do the trick...also will compare them to the similar ones Cabela's offers for about $40 to $50 less per pair. Might go with the Cabela's ones, then spend another $40 on goretex socks...gosh, how I hate traveling with wet feet. Like Lt. Dan, (Forest Gump Fame) always says..."take care of your feet!"
