Re: South of Quetico Lake

My experience with the "Badwater" portage was the same as db's. It makes for a really tough first day in the wilderness. There are two nice campsites on Badwater.
We camped on the first we saw, but there is a really great campsite half way down the lake on the North shore. The
portages to Your Lake are not too bad, but the one between Your and Snow is tough. The rest of the trip is pretty easy. I especially like the logging relics along the route from Trail, March, and Bentpine Creek.

Campsites are not numerous. I only know of one each on Your, Trail, and March. However, there a two nice sites on Bentpine.

Depending on your exit point, I would consider doing this trip in reverse. The "Badwater" portage is much easier at the end of the trip when you are lighter and probably in better physical shape.
