The terraserver site is one good place. Another I've found is at http://www.ra.dnr.state.mn.us, but they suffer from the same problem that terraserver does. Only the southern edges of Quetico are available, though these are different images in color infrared. What any of these sites provides online is nowhere near as good as what you would get if you purchase the hardcopy versions from them. Images in hardcopy of all of Quetico can be purchased from Canada. I have used them on all of my excursions there. I don't remember the details about how I got them, but I contacted the Ministry of Natural Resources in Totonto and asked about purchasing aerial photos of Quetico. Once I got connected to the right person and had my maps available for reference, they identified the photos I needed and then sent them to me. I suspect they may have a web site where you can do this, but I am not aware of it. If you discover an easier way to do this, please post it. ...Tom Posted by Tom on February 02, 2000 at 01:10 In reply to: aerial photo's posted by Greg on February 01, 2000 at 17:49 |
