My husband and I, both in OK, but not fantastic shape, went down the man chain, cut across to Emerald, through Plough to Ottertrack and back to Saganaga Lake last June. The hardest part was the first day crossing from our drop-off at American point to the ranger station in Cache Bay. We hit a high wind coming up Sag, and had to paddle like mad to stay still. It took forever to get across. I would say that the difficulty depends on how fast you want to go. If you take it leisurely, it wouldn't be very bad at all. Make sure you give yourself leeway for bad weather on Sag, though.
