I posted this question on another forum, and got this lone response:

"I tried this one year. The portage wasn't to bad the best I remember it was fairly dry all except for the end of Kett portage into Basswood. The portages seemed to be longer than the 164 rd into Kett and was longer than the 184 rd into Basswood as described on map. I've came back several ways Sarah thru Isabella N.BAY Burke to Baley Bay. Also Tuck across Robinson down Moose Bay up the Basswood Falls portages into Basswood.If you come out onto Basswood you can use Wind Bay as a short cut to Moose Lake it will get you off the BIG water if the wind isn't cooperating. I believe the best you can do will be one long hard day on any of the routes. jim"

If you take this route, how about posting your impressions when you get back (or adding them to the "portage database" on this website)?
