Of course, what trip would be complete without fresh fish fried up to a golden brown? My only comment here is to offer a tip taught to me by my long-time fishing buddy. When cleaning fish I always discarded any roe occasionally encountered. That was a mistake. On a trip to Quetico once, he saved the roe from several smallmouth we were eating for breakfast. Fried up lightly with a little salt and pepper, it was a real gourmet treat. Try it...you'll like it.

I guess I should add a disclaimer. I think the roe of certain fish species can be toxic, but I am living proof that roe from bass and crappie is not.
