I don't know about September but I know that in May the area just after the last island, after the long narrows, can hold a few walleyes. It's a nice place to fish too because you're so close to two shores and lots of game trails. Don't forget Sturgeon has huge bass too. Every time I troll the northern (Blueberry Island) chunk for trout, I swear I catch the same darn monster Northern, but never any Lakers.
