I have only been there once in May. I usually go up mid Sept. The one time I did go up though we caught fish on about everything we threw at them. The fish are in very shallow water. You can actually see them all around you in 5 feet of water or so. Just depends on how active they are at the time. If they are less active and just want to stay in one place I would suggest plastics. If they move around then I would go with rapala's. It all depends on when the ice melts on the lakes and how warm the water is when you go to how active they are. Wish you the best.
