I'm glad you got some reassuring comments - my apologies for not being one of the first but I do have a decent excuse , the computer crashed . Personally , I love to "bushwhack"- get off the standard routes but in my experience , it's been unusual that these areas outproduced the main lakes . It's just fun to do ! One of the nice things about bulletin boards is seeing how much wildy diverse beliefs there are among a group of people with a common love of the north canoe country . The liklehood of your post somehow "ruining" that particular lake/area seems unlikely . I too have come to believe that a given spot was a sure fire producer only to be humbled . Good paddling
