Cowboy -
Do you work with electronic marvels, too? I swear that's why I go - they're illegal in Quetico!!
My favorite time is just at sunset, especially of there's no wind. My ears are bad, so I don't want anything interfering with the evening songbirds, loons, and hopefully wolves.
Just sitting on the rock with a cup of coffee, watching the sky turn colors (the subtle pastels are best - I prefer them to the flaming variety, although I'll take them too), before mosquito time and having to head for the tent....
Maybe watching a thunderhead build, then anticipating the light show while collecting more rocks for the tent stakes and finding the duct tape to patch holes you can;t find till it storms....
Maybe a few casts with a topwater just to see, and not really caring if it's struck or not; maybe even being perturbed when it is struck 'cause it interfered with the monent (NAHHH)
Geez, it's a long time till September. Why did we decide to do that?
