Thanks for the entertaining stories. Wilderness trips tend to generate them. My partner also qualifies for the title of "one of the best people on this earth," but we still tend to annoy one another from time to time. I consider it a worthwhile learning experience.

The reason I have been called "Rockhead" in the past has something to do with my interest in rocks. There are some terrific rocks in the area, and one of the reasons I am planning a trip to the Man chain area is that the geology is different. I suspect another reason for people calling me that may have something to do with some inherent personality trait perceived by those who know me.

I can relate to the story of the canoe being caught on the pointed top of a reef with nowhere to step out. That's happened to us at least once or twice before. I'm not sure how we got off. Laughing too hard has been known to work; so has violent cussing. Parental discretion advised.
