Bob,
Basswood is loaded with great fishing, including all the species you asked about, and more. I've personally caught no end of smallmouth, many walleye, several large northern, and quite a few lake trout, including four or five in the 8 - 10 lb range (there are a lot of lake trout in Basswood if you know where to go). Although smallmouth abound all over Basswood, it helps to get a little intel on the better places for walleye and especially lake trout and big northerns. Basswood annually produces some of the biggest northerns taken in the Canoe Country. If you want to post your e-mail address and tell me when you'll be on Basswood and where you're headed from there so I'll have an idea of your route of travel, or if you're going to base camp on Basswood, I'll e-mail you back with some insight based on many trips (over 40) through Basswood on my way to other haunts.
