1) the fishing on kahshahpiwi if fine. don't know about the smaller surrounding lakes except for trant where i have cuaght fish.

2) i wouldn't portage the yum-yum portage. its a nice walk though if you have the time. then you'll know why not to portage it. the campsite down in the bay on kahsha where the portage starts is pretty nice.

3) making it to kahshahpiwi in a day from prarie portage would be a very tough push. you can get to the north side of north bay pretty quickly if the weather is good and your not going into the wind, but doing the series of small lakes and portages into kahsha from north bay can take several hours.
