What to expect for Current? As in flowing water? None. Portages? I made part of this loop in '97. The portage from Gibson to Cattyman is realtively short, but all uphill. Nice waterfall on your right. Jitterbug to Ahsub: Jitterbug is a shallow lake with muddy portage landings. . . . I almost put a hole in my canoe on this one. The first time I stepped in it I went up to my hips in water and "moose poop." THEN I saw that someone had laid a few logs to make a crude floating footway. After dropping our canoe in the water, we noticed there was a large spike in one of the logs and our canoe had *just* missed hitting it! All of the portages on this route are short. The ones I'm familiar with are pretty easy. I haven't been on the Boot to Gibson section, but once you hit Gibson you'll be pretty much on the main thorofare.
