Yes there is a great campsite upon Sturgeon Lake. It is about half way across Sturgeon though on the south side. Has a nice beach on it. There are a few nice campsites on Tanners Lake try the island near Andrews Creek.
I was on the same trip in 1994 went up throuh Darky River to Chatterton Falls. We started a Prairie Portage and then finished there as well. It was a great trip but we took a spill above Snake Falls. Lost alot of gear and most of our food and all of our maps. It was interesting though making our way with out our maps. I now carry a spare in the pocket of my life vest.
