Early Sept is my favorite time of the year to visit the area. The nights get down into the 30's and the days are usually mid to upper 60's, sometimes reaching the 70's. Last year it rained with strong winds during that period. We brought along a couple pair of jeans, some long and short sleeve shirts and a light/medium weight jacket. We didn't have any problems with staying warm. We actually got pretty hot at times because we were paddling so hard against the wind that we worked up a pretty good sweet. Either we got wet from our own sweet or from the rain. The bugs are at a minimum that time of year also so don't bring extra gear for the insects. With the crazy weather we are having this year, it might be different this fall. Keep in touch with an outfitter up there and watch the weather. ENJOY!
