I spent a couple nights on the southern end of Minn about 4 years ago. Nice campsite on the east shoreline with a little island directly in front. Nice sunsets, great smallmouth and a few walleye were caught. It was in August and the end of a circuit trip.
The portage was fine from Minn into McAree.

Minn has a lot of blown down timber in the water in the area we camped (west shoreline). Most of the big smallies were on the points.
