I agree with your comments and those of most everyone else commenting on this topic. Quetico really is a special place.

I think the BWCAW still is, too, in a lesser way. As you indicated, so was the Wisconsin of your youth.

What concerns me is that all of us, with our enthusiastic descriptions of the Quetico, are only advertising the area for the next wave of abuse.

Fortunately, Canada seems to be maintaining a relatively tight limit on it's use for the time being. I, too, am concerned about Canada's recent, politically correct, move to allow the Native Population commercial access to this special place.

Perhaps we can best protect it by sometimes remaining silent. Unfortuantely, though, I think the word is out.
