We have been going to the BW for many years, this year we went to Quetico, the Man chain.

My observations based on 1 limited exposure:

Where we went, there was just as many people as on trips to the BW, we planned to go further into Q but had to change our plans. The area near Silver Falls was PACKED.

The portages we made were rougher than in the BW.

The campsites were "dirtier" due to "waste/TP" then in the BW, very unsightly.

This trip was the most expensive of any we've taken.
The $12/night/person adds up when only 1 is paying. Plus the fishing licenses.

With all this, we are going back again, if not this year, the next.

BTW, David, if you don't use a motor on your canoe, you don't need to put letters on your canoe, only the sticker, if you reg it in MN. Also, I recently heard from somebody who put the sticker in the INSIDE of his canoe. He hasn't been sited - yet.
