After the last post, it has got me thinking again. Something I feel that should be shared with all who go to the northwoods.
I'll never forget that first trip I took there and the person who not only showed me but taught me the way it is to be. By this I mean that he showed me not only to camp, fish, and canoe. But to clean up after myself and for the others who don't know how. I think that had he not done this it would be a completely different experiance for me. He was in so much detail that he would explain how and why a small piece of fishing line would impact this great place. At first I just thought to myself that this guy is nuts. But as the trip went on in the week we were there I watched. I could see that his love for it was real. And that not even a match stick was to be left in a campfire. Now after many years I have had the pleasure of teaching new friends that I've taken there. The teaching is an important part and if we all do this then maybe our students will to in the future.
