Try a tent camp in one of the Indiana state parks or state forests (they're more "primitive"), like Pokagon, Summit Lake, Hardy Lake, Yellowwood, etc. You'll discover early if she'll sleep on the ground and like it.

Bugs are an issue - the bigs here aren't like those in the North Woods. I'd suggest a permit time in early to late August - the creepies aren't as numerous then, the weather patterns are still relatively stable, and the temps aren't too cold.

Remember, if you want it, you have to carry it. Satellite TV is not usually an option.
