I went to Conmee about 5 years ago. It is a nice lake. We went the first week of June and caught some smallmouth.I must admit, we must have hit it wrong because I was not impressed by the fishing. Don't recall any lakers. I will say that the first week of June I was suprised at the traffic because it's not the easiest lake to get to. As I recall we spent about 17 hours of paddling/portaging to get there from Prairie portage.
First week of May huh? Wow, be prepared to see some cold weather, snow and or ice!! Can't imagine seeing many people then. Have a great trip!
