Did it last year

My wife And I went from Staton Bay to the south part of Sturgeon Narrow the first day. Had an outfitter drop us off early and were on the water before 7am. Pickerel Lake was very calm. Travel was fast through Pickerel, Dorn and Twin. Duex River seemed longer than it looks on the map, but it is a great area to view wildlife so we didn't care. We were on the main part of Sturgeon by 1pm. Wind from the south slowed us down on Sturgeon until we hit the narrows.
We made camp at about 4 pm. Getting an early start was important. By leaving early we avoided most of the wind, didn't feel rushed, and had time to do a little exploring and fishing.

A word about Staton Bay: About Six years ago, I remember reading about a lot of cars getting broken into while parked at Staton Bay. I wouldn't part there even if it were premitted.
