Re: Saganagons to Lilypad and Jasper

WW,

We went that way last year, Sagan.. to Lilypad to Jasper.

We tried to take the other portage mentioned, but didn't want to paddle up the current.

The portage from Sagan... is at the southwest corner of a shallow weedy bay, you gotta look.
It doesn't appear to get used much and was partly overgrown on the North end. The 1st 50 ft is muck. It is then an up and over that feels longer than the 83 rods listed. The north part is a moderate climb, then a level top, and then a steeper drop to Liypad. The landing at Lilypad is open and shouldn't be too hard to find.

The 40 to Jasper is easy, a little mud but level. It starts a Lilypad on a rock that looks a little like a campsite.

Both are interesting lakes, but Jasper is nicest IMO. Either will have few people compared to Sagan..
We just paddled through Lilypad and Jasper so can't help with the fishing.

Have fun,
Dan
