Your more complete description of the incident is exactly how I had previously pictured it -- gun in left hand, pepper spray in right. Notice that I said " . . .shot yourself with the pepper spray in your right hand" -- not "shot yourself in the right hand with the pepper spray." Contrary to the wishes of some (not necessarily yourself) precise grammer DOES convey precise meaning. It sounds as if you do take great care with your guns, and for that you are to be commended. I don't intend to get drawn into a gun debate per se. (I actually favor gun ownership, even though I think the NRA is often its own worst enemy.) But I often wonder why one person feels the need (and I use the word "need" guardedly) to carry a gun into the BWCA while others, such as myself, feel that the BWCA is probably the safest place I can be and choose to leave my guns at home. - Ed Posted by Ed Stevens on March 17, 2001 at 11:01 In reply to: Re: Bears - Quetico/BWCA posted by Tim O'Brien on March 16, 2001 at 20:58 |
