In all of my years I have only had 2 bear incidents. Both were on Darky Lake (the North island camps). The first time the bear was persistant but never charged. About 5 years later we watched a bear swim from the main land to the island, come for a visit and swim back. There is some concern after Ontario outlaws spring bear hunts over bait that the population growth will cause more encounters in the area.
