People love to tell war stories about how bad the bugs were or how bad the weather or portages were. Bugs can be an inconvenience and that's about it. Make sure you follow the advise given from the other "posters".
Be prepared to be able to cover your skin. We usually only need to apply repellant on portages. Don't use any of that sissy stuff. Use the Muskol 100 % deet preferably in the pumb bottle. I've never needed more than one 1 oz bottle for a 10 day trip. But hey, take two just in case.
Pick your camp sites wisely. Where there is a breeze, there are few if any mosquitoes. And don't camp near swampy areas.
Your "friend" has picked what I consider by far the best time to experience the Q because of great fishing somewhat low traffic and usually few bugs in my experience.
Don't let the inconvenience prevent you from haveing one of the most memorable experiences of your life.
Keep a headnet in your day bag as insurance. In my approximate 130 or so days spent in the Q I have maybe used it 2 hours! But its good to have.
I'll be going in Agnes onJune 1st, maybe we'll run into you.
