Beaverhouse Options - Kids in Tow

I'm headed into Quetico via Beaverhouse just past mid-June. I have seven days to fish, explore, and otherwise deal with the attention spans of the two 15 year-olds and one 12 year old who will accompany me. We'll load up with crawlers packed in sphagnum moss and Canadian leeches in hopes of keeping their rods bending. While I'm experienced in the Park and have fished/travelled Cirrus, Quetico, & Jean Lakes before, I'm a bit concerned about the 15 year olds in one canoe handling big lakes and big winds.

With that in mind, I'm considering some smaller lake options, including:
1) Trying the Quetico - Jean - Boulder - Badwater circuit. That most likely keeps the wind at our backs in big water and small lakes on our return. OR
2) Base-camping the week near the east end of Quetico & taking day trips into the smaller un-named lakes and possibly into Jean on less windy days.

Any thoughts on how do-able the Quetico - Jean -Boulder - Badwater circuit might be for my young crew (I know the reputation of the Badwater/Quetico portage)? Also, any thoughts as to which route would be more fun for the kids?

Thanks in advance for your ideas....
