Re: Fish Locators

I'll vouch for what someone said previously about Vexilar. They are a very good company to deal with. I was having troubles with my Micronar portable locator. That also runs on 8 AA batteries and is about 4X5 inches. I've been using it since '88. I think Vexilar's Boundary Waters model is based on this one as the buttons and transducer are the same. Micronar stopped making them awhile back and I was able to pick up another one without the transducer for $100. Last fall, my transducer stopped working so I asked Vexilar if they would look at it. I sent it on a Monday and had it back on my doorstep at the end of that week. They repaired my original transducer, sold me an extra transducer for my other locator and the bill came to $68, including shipping and tax. Very reasonable! Now I have another locator my son can use. I'm tickled pink with that company. They certainly didn't have to repair another brand locator. If they hadn't, I would have bought their Boundary Waters model.
