Re: Your biggest back-country blunder...?

i went in one year with a bad back. not being a drinker, my only option was advil (with the candy coating). after eating a couple after our second day of paddling, i threw the bottle on my tackle box and went to bed. i was out like a light until the am, however one of my tentmates commented on the excessive noises in the wilderness. i had to laugh..damn first timers. as my back began to scream at me as i got up, i headed straight to my advil only to find the bottle punctured about 20 times. no biggie i thought, just a little ground creature having fun. we moved to a better island campsite later in the day and i went for firewood. needless to say, those same ground critters on this campsite were chattering away to beat the band. anyway, we went on to make dinner, eat and go out to do some fishing and LOW AND BEHOLD... we ran into a bear swimming about 100 feet off of our island. the only thing i could think to say was OH SH1T !!!!! i bet the bear felt great last night. HAHAHAHA
