Go into hidden lake north of North Bay. You don't even need to portage to get there. As soon as you get through the narrow (east west) entrance into hidden lake it opens up and there is a island in the middle. Good wallies at about 15-20Ft deep off that island. Also go around the rocky islands in the North East corner of North Bay. There are good campsites at the entrance to hidden lake. The one on the peninsula between North Bay and hidden lake is my favorite. We saw many moose in the shallow water north of camp. Usually while we were eating breakfast or just before sundown.
