You can make Insula in one day, but it depends on the traffic. That route is very well travelled, and the portages are very rutted-out and wide.
It is good fishing though on Insula. The times we've gone there we caught all the fish we could eat, and threw back a bunch as well. Walleyes, Smallies and Northerns.
