We are taking two crews of Scouts and adults to Quetico during late July / early August out of Somers Canoe Base on Moose Lake for 8 days on the water. One crew's entry point is Basswood River. Since no one in our party has been in this area, we are looking for advice on good fishing opportunities, portages, routes, etc. Somers provides a guide, but we have some input to our route. We were thinking of Prairie Portage - Basswood Lake - Basswood River - Robinson- McIntire (or Tuck) - Sarah - Isabella - North Bay - Burke - Bayley Bay and return. Another possibility was south out of Tuck to Basswood Lake - Wind Bay - Wind Lake - Moose Lake. We made a similar trip in the area east of this route two years ago. Good fishing and fun are more important than miles on this trip. Any ideas out there??? P.S. I've searched this entire forum and already have all of that info.
