I guess I am as "comfortable" on a portage as on the water so carrying extra stuff doesn't bother me. Secondly, if I pack it in I carry it; w/ a few exception of course (cooking stuff, etc...) 2 trips, 3 trips back and forth. So what! Who's in a hurry? But, I digress. I would happily carry any extras for any of my camping partners so they could enjoy them around the campsite. For most of us this is a once-a-year opportunity and I choose to make the best of it. Paddle on brother.
