I take 2 medium weight two wheel pulleys and 2 100' lengths of 1/2" nylon climbing rope. Tie a water bottle to one end of one of the ropes to throw it as high as you can in one tree. Secure the end to a tree with a clove hitch. Attach one pulley to the top rope. Thread the two pulleys with a rope tied to the top through the bottom - top - bottom - top and running end. Tie a 15' line to the bottom pulley. Use the water bottle to throw the other end of the top rope into another tree as high as you can go at least 20' from the first tree. Tie the top rope down tight with clove hitches around trees. This can support 100+ pound loads with ease. Posted by Jim on June 27, 2001 at 00:04 |
