I put things off too long this year and all my favorite entry points were booked out of Ely. I looked for low number of entry permits, fairly easy access, possibility of some fishing fun. Ended up booking Pine Lake out of Grand Marais. It's 8 miles long and no more than 1/2 mile wide; 120' deep, and almost all the shores are steep dropoffs. Does anybody know anything about Pine Lake and the area around it? thanks.
