"In general" - means I've not been there but similar experience gives me enough of an idea to stick my neck out. And since I hate seeing things go unanswered... Basically I thought I'd point out for everyone that the sites that are on all the maps always seem to be the obvious sites you wouldn't miss if you are just passing through following a route. Because of that they are the first to become occupied and suffer more wear and tear than more out of the way sites that don't get marked. I think of marked campsites as emergency sites when the weather or energy fail. In any case they are rarely the only established sites or the best sites for that matter. More remote lakes like Cache, Lindsay, and McKenzie probably never see enough traffic to make a difference. Posted by db on August 01, 2001 at 16:43 |
