There are several loop routes out of Lake One, Snowbank, or Moose that should be nice that time of year (i.e. after the hordes of campers/Boy Scouts leave). I just returned from a long loop through lakes 1,2,3,4, Insula, Alice, etc. and ending with the Fraser/Thomas/Ima/Disappointment/Snowbank chain. Very doable, and quite scenic. The northern portions were in the blow-down are with lots of aspens and birch springing up. The most northern reaches were very sloppy with muskeg, bog, leeches, and beaver creeks. Not my idea of a late-season solo trip. Posted by TCK on August 12, 2001 at 16:37 |
