Re: Looking for SOLO recommendations

As I mentioned, I Kneel on a thick foam pad (originally sold as a swimming pool floating mat); it's about 1-1/2 inches thick, of closed cell spongy & soft foam! I doubles as my sleeping pad when at camp!!! Though it's a bit heavy to portage, compared to an air matress, it'll never leak, and provides at least 80 pounds of floatation if you capsize!! I kneel on it , while sitting back against or on the front edge of the boats seat. or if amid-ship I kneel in an unseated posture, so I can reach out further - to paddle, or sit on one of my packs full of clothing items so it's soft , etc.

I wish you would've included some of the basic technical statistics on your boat- length, beam, weight, material, seat style, etc., etc.!
That would help we to guage your remarks, and to formulate a mental picture of your loading capabilities!

I am still looking for a SOLO canoe, and perhaps others will provide me some input here too!!
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
