I entered the Park via Beaverhouse in August 2000. We left our vehicle at that entry point for a week with no problems at all. My group enjoyed that area of Quetico, although we didn't go over to Jean, we went south to Badwater. Fishing on Quetico was slow, but we did have more success on Badwater. This July we plan to enter at Beaverhouse again, but this time we are going to travel east through Jean. I've never come in through Nym, but I've heard the same thing about some of those portages (muddy). I think Beaverhouse is the faster, easier route of the two. The portage in isn't bad, and the portage around the Quetico River is fairly easy too. After that you can enjoy a long paddle down a very scenic Quetico Lake. I hope this helps.
