Ted, I parked at Beaverhouse for over a week last June and almost a week last August without incident. However, when I inquired due to rumors, the Ranger there DID tell me about some problems in May. I was led to believe they were watching the area more closely due to these early season issues. Regarding your approach to Jean Lake... Beaverhouse is hands-down the better option (from the standpoint of paddling time & scenery) IF you can get past the "car safety" jitters. I agree with the other posted comment that August CAN be slow fishing... even on Jean. I also agree about the smaller lakes. Fortunately, there are several smaller lake alternatives around Jean if the action slows. Hey, one last thought on parking... I've known one or two of the outfitters based on Flanders Road (just outside B'house) to work some decent shuttle deals. As for me, I'm cheap and I'll risk the parking when I head there in August or September of this year. Good luck & good fishing.... Jimbo Posted by Jimbo on February 28, 2002 at 15:27 |
