I've had much sucess throughout the summer slowly trolling brightly colored hot-n-tots. It seems to work best at mid-day when walleye are very hard to catch in July and August. I seldom catch any really large ones this way after June but catch nice eaters between 3-6 pounds. I'm also not dredging them up from 50+ feet so if I release them I feel good about their recovery.
