I have to admit bringing in a portable Lowrance unit the last couple times. It did help me get on more fish, especially for vertical jigging. As far as trolling it didn't really matter. We always got into lakers while trolling when rigged as previous posts. I do enjoy watching the screen and admiring the bottom structure. Found a 326' hole on Cirrus.... with all the blue walleyes I could dream of on nearby 10' structure. That was worth it and I probably would have never found the submerged rock piles without having the unit along. These babies were Levi Denim blue, and plentiful. Tasted damn good too.
