Thanks for the great info, Snowdog. I've been waiting for a recommendation from someone who has "been there, done that." I'm going to take your advice and skip the upriver paddle on the Darky. We will keep an eye out for you and hope to run into you somewhere along the way! If we go to Argo, we might try doing it via the Roland chain. Do you have any advice to offer about fishing the Roland lakes? Although we really want to target those Wicksteed pike, you have me seriously considering Argo since I've heard it's one of the most beautiful lakes in Quetico.
