I have owned the Optimus Nova and Feather 400 by Coleman. These are 2 stoves that fall in totaly different catagories. I spent the winter in Tazmania with the trouble prone Optimus. At $340 ozzy dollars you would expect more. Yes it burns everything but was consistently inconsistant to fire up, happy to spill fuel out of the no leak coupling and waste more than it burned. I thank this site for allowing me to slam the Optimus Nova. The Coleman burns lots of fuel, more so than the MSR line of stoves. It is also heavier and packs larger than the MSR line. The plus is the quiet and control. No MSR stove simmers or is as quiet as the Coleman. My Feather 400 always starts in the winter with no priming too!! Posted by Chris on April 28, 2002 at 19:08 |
