I agree. I never had a problem getting a site. I think it's all about planning. You need to be prepared to get off the water at a certain time, not at 7:00pm. You need to be prepared to paddle maybe 1 or 2 more hours to find a spot. I am very concerned when people want to control, label, fix, manage, and store wilderness.
